Mobility Scooter Sighting 51 - Marylebone, London
This rare sighting of a pavecraft in it’s natural habitat was snapped by mobility scooter aficionado Joe Rudkin of London. Joe captured the moment surreptitiously on his secret camera whilst ‘Mobitching’* the Artichoke pub in London’s trendy Marylebone. Again we witness this pharmacological phenomenom in action of a seemingly crippled man being lifted from the shackles of immobileness by the holy nectar of Ale.
This sighting is very important due to the market demographic involved, this is shot in an upmarket expensive pub, where a pint of lager is as much as £4.50, normally pave craft stick to the lower end of the scale. Here we bare witness to shifting acceptance of pave craft usage within the middle classes, something that wouldn’t have happened just 2-3 years ago.

•’Mobitching’ is the pavecraft equivalent of twitching - as used in the bird watching world to describe the pursuit of a previously-located rare bird.

This set of photographs is a random collection of sightings of the modern form of electric transport known as the disibility/mobility scooter. Enjoyed by people of varying degrees of in/ability age and creed, some are outright paraplegics, some are just trying to trundle through life a little bit smoother. As batteries and technology move on we may find that the answer to our future transport needs on this crowded island may be right under our noses and already flourishing. This blog is here to celebrate the humming revolution that whizzes by beneath our noses largely unnoticed - until now!
