Mobility Scooter Sighting 48 - Shrewsbury, Shropshire
This Asda shopper is waiting patiently for her taxi to arrive, thanks to modern day technical advancement she can leave the comfort of her own TV room, shuffle into her waiting taxi, disembark her taxi at Asda, shuffle into the Asda complimentary electric mobility scooter, shop, leave the shop and wait for her taxi to arrive from the comfort of the Asda complimentary mobility scooter, shuffle into the taxi, get driven home, shuffle from her taxi back into her sitting room and voila the cycle is unbroken! I wonder if she endorses stair lift travel too?
This is one of the few times I’ve spotted an in-store Mobility Scooter in use in recent times. It may well indeed be the ubiquitous Mart Cart - the plastic moulding at the base of the steering column betraying it’s marque, it’s embarrassing noticeable livery and bulky design ensure it’s low usage, it also has a plug dangling from it’s rear offside. Notice the lady to the left of frame with a locked jaw.

Accent theme by Handsome Code

This set of photographs is a random collection of sightings of the modern form of electric transport known as the disibility/mobility scooter. Enjoyed by people of varying degrees of in/ability age and creed, some are outright paraplegics, some are just trying to trundle through life a little bit smoother. As batteries and technology move on we may find that the answer to our future transport needs on this crowded island may be right under our noses and already flourishing. This blog is here to celebrate the humming revolution that whizzes by beneath our noses largely unnoticed - until now!
